Ridley Dean FAST Disc Frameset Carbon-456
Description
We embarked on the development of our new time trial bike, the Dean Fast, with the ambitious goal of setting a new benchmark for aero TT bikes. Our objective was clear: reduce drag and increase speed, pushing the boundaries of what is permissible under UCI regulations.â¯
To achieve this, we turned to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Using CFD simulations, we were able to identify new designs that would minimize drag at speeds around 55 km/h. After an extensive research phase, several promising design options were selected for further testing. To validate the real-world impact of these designs, we used the wind tunnel at Bike Valley. Countless hours were dedicated to refining the bike’s aerodynamics, leaving no aspect untouched in the pursuit of perfection.
The result of the thorough research and testing is the Dean Fast, a time trial bike engineered to be as aerodynamic as possible.â¯

The Dean Fast pushes the limits of the latest UCI regulations including the 8:1 rule for tube dimensions and the use of compensation triangles. The F-Surface Plus on the frame and vork create a controlled amount of turbulence, allowing the main airflow to closely follow the tube’s shape.
A removable front derailleur hanger means that riders choosing a 1x set-up, will get the sleekest look possible when using the bespoke cover that replaces the hanger.â¯
Other features to keep in mind are the maximum tire clearance of 32mm, the UDH hanger and the fact that the frame is developped only for electronic groupsets.
The ultimate test for the Dean Fast was the U23 World Championship Time Trial in 2022 where Alec Segaert won the silver medal racing the the final prototype.
